A Night Off — Behind the Name

Journal Entry #2

For a long time, I believed that rest had to be earned; that I had to finish everything first. That slowing down was something I was allowed only after I had done enough, produced enough, given enough. Somewhere along the way, rest started to feel conditional.

A Night Off (my “any time fragrance”) was my way of pushing back against that idea.

A Night Off isn’t about escape or indulgence. It’s about choosing yourself without justification. It’s about the evenings when you decide you don’t owe anyone your energy anymore. When you let the day end without replaying it. When you give yourself permission to be still, even if everything isn’t finished.

I think we often underestimate how powerful it is to stop; not to quit, but to pause. To sit in silence; to pour a glass of something warm or comforting; to press play on a familiar movie; to exist without the pressure to be productive or presentable or “on.”

A Night Off is inspired by evenings that feel unclaimed. When your shoulders finally drop; when the noise quiets; when you stop performing and start resting; not because you’ve earned it, but because you need it.

This scent was created for nights when you close the laptop early; when you choose comfort over obligation; when you allow yourself to slow down without guilt or explanation.

A Night Off is my reminder that rest is not a reward.

It’s a requirement.
